Sick
of carrying those ugly looking PVC rod holders around,
you need something that is more versatile, compact
and easy to carry. Well you don’t have to look
any further. Let me introduce you to Brian Jose, the
inventor of BEACHMASTER the ultimate beach and rock
fishing accessory. I had the opportunity to use one
of these compact, easy to carry and very versatile
ultimate rod holders. Made out of high grade polished
stainless steel, a carry strap, and two locking nuts,
that secures your rod, and another one which drops
a spike, making it easy to insert your BEACHMASTER
into the sand or even locking it into a gap on a rocks.
So throw away your PVC rod holder and get you hands
on a BEACHMASTER a must for all your land based fishing
needs. To check out more about the BEACHMASTER, go
to their website by clicking
here. |

The Sygna was a 53,000 tonne Norwegian bulk carrier and now shipwreck on Stockton Beach, New South Wales, Australia. The ship ran aground during a major storm on 26 May 1974 and the wreck has become an icon and landmark for the local area. Thanks to Les Ritter Gyprock Plastering who provided me with this video and the owner of this clip, who wishes to remain nameless, Has given Newcastle Fishing the rights to display the video. No reproductions of this clip can be made in any form or displayed on any other site, with out written permission from Newcastle Fishing.

Lake Macquarie /Swansea Report
Well with the cold weather & winds still with us, only the die hard fisho's that don't mind getting out of that warm bed to hit the lake must truly be mad keen or just mad. With the water temp still down in the lake it will test the best of us,from all reports the southern ends & bays seem to be the place to go, The bays behind Goat Island look very fishy indeed they have some nice thin weed & sand patches there just what the doctor ordered for the bream & flathead, if you are lucky enough to have an electric motor these bays are a must to flick soft plastics, give the Berkley 3" power minnows with bloodworm scent & the squidgies silver fox a go which have a great tail action for flathead, but those big bream we all love to catch still like nice fresh mullet un weighted. The best bait I feel is live prawns in these bays but we have to wait till that water starts to warm,it is hard work getting live prawns & looking after them but with any sort of live bait them big one's just love it. There have been some nice ludrick still being caught at lake eraring that are no record breaking fish but they are there all day, the taylor are there too but you might be throwing them back due to undersize,at this time of year the fishing is that bit harder but still we all love the lake & we all pray for great conditions so catching a feed of fresh fish is iceing on the cake so good luck & tight lines

LAKE MAQUAIRE/SWANSEA:
Cold clear water is the go in the lake and off the beaches at the moment and it has reduced the number of fish being caught and only the keenest anglers with the thickest skins are getting results. Speaking of results Jamie J went out with his two boys for a fish in the southern part of the lake for one flatty and one 20 KILO or so male homosapien, I just hopes he puts his catch in fish of the month hehe. The northern end of lake macquarie has almost closed down to fishing with water temps at around 11 degrees but the southern end around pulbah and towards the power station being the places to find the fish. My boy and i dropped anchor near the sw black and yellow marker at pulbah shoals for a mixed bag of just legal bream and snapper just after dark. Tailor are being landed on the deep trolls in the southern end of the lake. Swansea channel is firing for blackfish and a gun spot at the moment with very little amount of anglers is at the carpark at coon island just off the spurwall.
BEACHES/OFFSHORE:
The beaches are doing it tough at the moment with the cold water only producing salmon and the occasional jew. Azza went out for a nice afternoon fish and landed a 13kg jew on fresh squid just on dark. Outside the Elvis fish are still thick. Invader finally found some luck on his last outing with good Nannigai over 50cm and a nice mowie as well. Remember to P.M. me with details of your catch to include in the fishing reports.
Dont forget to put in your footy tips with The Poo Man leading the comp and rxg1970 in second, with so many contenders gunning for the lead anything can happen.
